JOBS OPENING IN CRUISE SHIPS

GALLEY & KITCHEN

There are dozens of jobs in the galley (kitchen), many of which require extensive prior restaurant or cruise ship experience. The galley is usually divided into the hot galley and cold galley. The hot galley positions include all types of cooking-vegetables, fish, soup, and grill. The cold galley positions include baking, pastry, and buffets.

RESTAURANT  & BAR

The food and beverage division is responsible for all of the dining rooms, restaurant - bars, bars, the galleys (kitchens), clean up and provisions. The Food and Beverage Director runs this department. cruise ship waiter dining room manager, or maitre d', take care of seating arrangements, service, and oversees the wait staff for the main restaurant (dining room). Under the maitre d' are the head waiters, and each of them is responsible for several waiters and busboys. Even though waiters and busboys are considered entry-level positions, cruise line prefer those with previous experience from a restaurant or hotel dining room

HOTEL SERVICES

The Hotel department is the center of Hotel operations onboard all Crusie vessels. This dynamic department encompasses a variety of roles and is responsible for the management of hotel accounts, shore excursions, and shipboard personnel operations such as the Crew Office.

HOUSEKEEPING

The housekeeping department is responsible for maintaining the highest level of cleanliness and service in guest staterooms, public areas, and open decks as well as providing laundry services to both guests and crew members. This department is also responsible for the movement of baggage on and off the ship and making sure the ship is ready for new guests each and every cruise. Entry-level positions within this department include Utility Cleaner, Accommodations Attendant, and Laundry Steward.

CASINO

The Casino department consists of the following cruise ship positions: casino manager, casino dealer/croupier, cashier, and slot technician. In compliance with international custom laws, the casino is only allowed to open while in international waters; usually three miles out to sea. Subsequently, the staff only work while at sea and have port days off.

Cruise Entertainment departments are multifaceted and incorporate a variety of teams that work together to create a captivating entertainment experience. We offer everything from lavish production shows to organized activities, games shows, and informative presentations. We encourage high-quality entertainers, accomplished musicians, skilled production technicians, and knowledgeable lecturers to pursue opportunities to travel the world and delight our guests.

Requirement for a Cruise job

WHO CAN APPLY

  • Minimum 1 year on the job training

  • Minimum age: 21 years

  • Good knowledge in the English language.

  • Availability initially approx 9 months (on the sea)

  • Valid passport for travel (valid for at least 1-year after dating of hire)

  • Medical fitness for service at sea

  • Relevant safety and security certificates (Background check report)

  • Willing and able to work a "7-day week"
